It is not a Saiga but instead a Romanian WASR....
I did not install the rails - as they were already on the gun when I purchased it (it came that way). It is a Romanian M10-762 AK-47 variant (included the Tapco stock, trigger group & tactical rail as the foregrip).
The rails have a metal clip that connects/clips to the gas tube but is really held on by 4 allen screws that connect the top and bottom rail parts together.
The only thing that I have installed on the gun is the side mounted USG scope mount and the scope itself.
All jokes and comments aside about tacti-cool stuff on AK's - (whether you like that or not) it is a great shooter and pretty darn accurate too. I purchased the entire package (less the scope & mount) for $499 from Classic Arms before the buying (and price hike) frenzy. I like it alot and think I did pretty good on the purchase.
