I have a Romanian AKM-47 (not that that matters, an AK is an AK) with a CQB scope mounted on it using the side rail. No vibration. The reason for this is that I put a drop of red liquid on each allen screw and then screwed the allen screws into place. This liquid (and for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it) comes in two colors, red and blue. Once the red sets up, the screws have to be heated to at least 500 degrees in order to remove them, the blue, just a little force. I found this out the hard way. But since I do not plan on removing the mount, no harm done. You can also try a picatinney rail dust cover that Brownell's sells. Either way will work just fine.

Can you drill and tap the top of the reciever and instal a picatany rail? I do not want to buy a reciever with rails built in I dont want to spend extra cash how can I mount an optic on top of the reciever close to my eye?
The difficult I do immediately, the impossible takes me a few minutes longer.
