What other ways can you mount optics on an ak47?
I do not like any of the methods used to mount a sight or scope so far on an ak the side mounted scope I hear has alot of proplems they vibrate and come undone while shooting I do not want to put an optic on the upper foregrip eithe rb because I want the sight to be close to my eye I want the ak47 to have a rail buit right on top of the reciever like the zaztava m70pap aks how can I mount an optic on top of a regular ak? Can you drill and tap the top of the reciever and instal a picatany rail? I do not want to buy a reciever with rails built in I dont want to spend extra cash how can I mount an optic on top of the reciever close to my eye?

I just bought a UTG 5th gen dust cover with rail and it has 2 screws on the backside that press against the receiver to make it more stable. I read the comments and someone put over a 1000 rds throught their AK and said the rail stayed in place and the scope stayed at zero. That person installed this on a MAK 90 norinco .
That's what I'm putting mine on because the mak 90 has no side mount.
Hope this helps.

I think this is what you are asking about.

Or this one.

I have never had a problem with the side rail type scope mounts getting loose.
I buy the adjustable type, that only requires a small adjustment to tighten up.
