What is the most accurate ak for under 850$?
When i mean acurate i mean able to hit decent groups out to 150 yards maybe 200

What is your definition of "Decent" groups?

1" at 100 yds or 3" at 100 yds? Both are decent, but one is three times larger than the other.

Since accuracy can be ammo dependent, What ammo are you willing to feed it?

AK's by nature aren't "accurate" in the way we western shooters mean. It was meant to fight, and as such, usually inside 300 yards. You can hit a man with it at 100 yards offhand with practice easy enough.

But for the same accuracy we have come to expect with most AR's/M14/m1a's etc... You'd better call Marc Krebs and you'd better bring your wallet and watch...

I know the ak is not a very accurate platform but i would like to know who makes the most accurate one for the money? Under 850$Arsenal aks ar very nice but a little too pricey to spend that much on an ak id rather spend that kind of money on an ar i will be using 762x39 golden bear ammo buy decent i mean 5 inch groups at 150 yards to 200 yards

The problem you get into is stacking of tollerances or variances in manufacture. I could recommend a couple AK types that friends have had that are accurate, and you could buy the same brand, and that particular rifle may not be as accurate.

One very accurate AK that I encountered was a Norinco NHM-90 with a long barrel and milled receiver. It was capable of shooting 2" groups at 100 yds with Winchester brass cased ammo. But groups would open up using any Chinese, or Russian ammo.

An AK is made to meet a standard of accuracy of about 3" at 100 meters. combine that with ammo that is only required to meet a 3" grouping standard and you now get up to 9" groups if you get a poor example of rifle, and poor lot of ammo combined.

Arsenal probably makes the most conistant quality AKs that are available right now. But if you put most Russian ammo in them they will still only shoot about 6-8" groups at 200 yds, unless you get a good lot of ammo that is more consistant. If you wanted to fork out the money for better ammo, then you could get into the types of groups you are talking about.

Otherwise it's a gamble. I've seen a few Accurate WASR rifles, and some that couldn't hold better than shotgun patterns. There just isn't the kind of consistency in most manufacturers in AKs to really answer your question the way you want.

If you want a gun that is a more sure bet for accuracy, then you want a different platform. Of course with an AK you have a 30 round mag, so if you threw three rounds down range, you could possibly hit a target 1 out of three times that was 6" in diameter. AKs make up in volume what they don't accomplish with precision.

For what it's worth the AK74 seems to have a bit better reputation for accuracy.

If your not restricting yourself to Russian ammo, the Saiga in .223 or .308 are very good and there seems to be more sources for match grade ammo.
Either can be made to resemble any style AK you like.

As some people have said, the AK-74 and any variant in the .223/5.56 platform are awesome at performance. I know I am normally always happy with the precision with repeat groups of my 74. Inside and outsid eplay different roles in your "accuracy". Things such as wind-age, harmonics(mainly inside ranges), and other natural things reflect upon your shooting. I just prefer the 5,45x39 for the simple fact it is faster and can travel further. As for guns I would say the Bulgarians make a splendid AK. Polish Tantals are very very nice as well.

My stock - rifle-config 16" SAIGA - probably could. It's incredible.
