what to get???

Hay im a new member and im looking to get my first ak type rifle. I was looking at the saiga 7.62 and read lots of good reviews but i dont know much about all the ak stuff so im looking for some advise on what to get. Are there any other ak 47 stye rifles that would be as good or better for there price range around $400. And they would have to be cali legal.

It would hard to beat a Saiga and since it comes out of the box already neutered you shouldn't have too many problems with legalities but I'm not familiar with Cali restrictions. Stock Saigas are about as PC as an AK can get though.

yeah id definitely want a true Russian ak id probably convert it do you know how hard it would be and i herd you can convert the mag catch insted of shaving every mag is that true? and would you have to install a bullet guide on every mag?

I have one. It is awesome. By far the most accurate of my AK type rifles.

i saw that you live in LA so do you know if its legal to convert as long as it has a bullet button?

You can convert them, but I own a bunch of AK's and wish they all had Saiga stock on them. They don't look as cool, but sure feel and point better.

DO YOU STILL HAVE TO PUT A BULLET guide on every mag even if you shave down the mag catch

The bullet guide goes on the bottom of the receiver right in front of the mag, under the chamber.
