SKS - Take apart OK_ yet not easy to put together

Thanks to these InterWebs - I've learnt to take apart & put together again my SKS.
Question?
How come it be so Hard to get the trigger group to 'click' back into place?
I must place the rifle upside-down on a hard surface and press VERY 'kin hard down with large screwdriver.
She then goes "click"
No worries Mate.
Yet I would not want to be doing this under difficult circumstances.

Any suggestions / comments questions welcomed

Do you have a Yugo? Cause mine is the same way. I have to put most my weight on it to lock it back in. Do you have the rifle safety on the "on" position? Cause it makes it a heck of alot easier.

This may help?

No kidding! I have to put my full body weight on the trigger guard to get it snapped intolace. I always feel like in going to break it

I just used a screwdriver to give it a little help and it went right in. I had the same problem the first time I did it.

Perhaps a dab of STP on a Q-Tip on the trigger locking lug would help?

I Don't Know!

As much as I love my Yugo SKS, it's a beech to disassemble/reassemble, simply cause of the trigger group.

Plus there are more parts to clean once disassembled. :(

What you're doing goes way beyond

a standard field strip. Just do this

job in the shop.
