I have found that the 123gr HP's are MUCH more accurate than 154gr soft points in my Yugo SKS. In fact, I got so much bullet drop with the 154gr soft points at 400 yards I found it extremely difficult to hit at that range with them.

I am guessing that the SKS is probably "made" to shoot 123gr bullets more accurately than 154gr.

I've never used anything heavier than 124 in my Chinese SKS. Most of the wolf & bear stuff is in that range, as far as i've seen.
