I hunt deer and hogs with my SKS. Just limit the range of your shot to say 150 yds. or less and your good to go.

I have come to find out, out of the different nations sks, the Chinese Norinco is my favorite. I have not shot the Russian yet, but is on my to do list. Love this forum, helps alot when questions are asked. Thanks all, and remember, " Keep'em Loaded"

Tapco I believe carries, 5, 20, and 30. Or 5,15, and 20 rnd mags. But they do carry 5. Just them being in stock is the question.

Not a fanboy of SKS', but... They definitely deserve some respect. I remember thinking that for $200 the self-loading reliable rifle and a case of ammo China had become the arsenal of democracy (pre-Clinton).

U can get 5 round mags -- they are actually decent deer rifles with brand-name ammo!

Yeah I've heard that too, in Canada they pin the mags to 5 rounds.
