SKS's are great guns. Everyone should have at least one. and prices are getting higher on them so I'd get one while they where still affordable.

I have both and am building a second AR. I like them both. They are apples and oranges. I happen to like both apples and oranges. My SKS is a Norinco with Monte Carlo stock. I was kind of surprised that it felt more refined than my M1 to shoot. Very smooth, no clanks or clunks. My AR buffer spring sounds like an out of tune guitar spring. I am glad to have both. The AR costs more to shoot but I can reload for it. I bought 1000 rds. of Wolf 7.62 for .38 delivered. I'm a happy camper.
