My grandfather recently gave me a China Sports SKS, he had stored for close to ten years. He never fired a shot through it so it has cosmoline caked on. I have the gun disassembled for cleaning, I removed the firing pin from the bolt(it could barely moved due to the cosmoline), and now I can't figure out how it goes back in. The only thing I've been able to find is that the ridge on the pin goes towards the top. My pin is two sided and has a ridge on both sides one is just closer to the front of the pin, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correction... it was distributed by China Sports, it was made in China by Norinco

I can't understand. My advice would be to watch one of the videos on youtube that shows the takedown and reassembly. Some of them are very good.

All the videos I could find said their firing pins were 3 sided with one side having a ridge and the other two being flat. My pin is two sided with a ridge on both sides, one side has a ridge closer the the end than the other and I'm not sure which side goes up to prevent slam fires?

With my SKS at home and going from memory, my only other suggestion would be to assemble it each way and shake it lengthwise to hear that the pin is moving freely back and forth inside there.
