All very good points but I do like the yugo for high volume shooting over the Norinco due to its heavier barrel. Due to the lack of Chromide ore they opted not to import it to chrome line the barrels but instead use a heavier un chromed barrel. the earlier issue of it being front heavy is due to this, the grenade launcher adds to it but it is negligible. But that is really the only plus a yugo has on a chinese made or russian made SKS

I just got a Norinco a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I cant speak for the Yugo but my Norinco is super accurate and has had no probs!

^^^ It looks almost virginally unmolested lying there in its original stock, still with the fixed mag and all. When you picked it up, did you have a sign on your car that said "free candy"?

I did have a sign but it said Look bitches and Ho's I be packin! LoL haha but no I could not believe it when I found it the guy who worked at the pawn shop I found it at had it for like 10 years or so and never shot it. He said it just sat in his gun safe. He didnt even know that it had a cleaning kit in the stock. I think thats how I got it for such a great price is cause the guy did not know what he had. The guy told me 180 out the door and I said where is my paperwork to fill out?

My first SKS was a Yugo...I sold it. For me it was too bulky and I hated the grenade launcher.

Now I have two Chicom Paratroopers, a Norinco SKS-M, and a Russian 51 Tula refurb.

ChiCom /106\ unfired, numbers matching, threaded barrel

ChiCom 1967 /26\ threaded barrel

Norinco 1994 SKS-M takes AK mags

Russian 1951 Tula factory refurb, unfired

Chrome lined barrel is a must have for me. Both Russian and Chinese have chrome lined barrels.

That gas valve on the Yugo SKS is one more thing that can go wrong.....

Unless you specifically want the grenade launcher, the Yugo is not the best choice.
