I've got one. I would think hunting hogs would be fun as heck to do with the ak. Unless your the hog. The prices have come down in the last couple of years. __________________ NEVER FORGET |

Should I just buy a ak or save up for a ar because I rather spend more money on something more reliable |

An AK is more or just as reliable as a AR in my opinion. I have had great luck with my WASR. |

That would be a personal choice. For the amount you said, that is alot of fire power for the buck. I know wasr 10 is on the low end of the ak spectrum but I have had nothing but fun with mine. Reliable is what an ak is known for. __________________ NEVER FORGET |

A shooting buddy has a WASR10, and i have thoroughly enjoyed shooting it, as has he. It has been VERY reliable, and there are many aftermarket accessories available for it. That sounds like a good price to me, but you should look around first. __________________ Dead Bears, the only good kind.

It's so cheap because there are TONS of them. Not bad for the money, but if you're expecting the same level of fit and finish as say a $400 American made hunting rifle, you'll be disappointed. I was in the market for an AK to add to the collection, and shot a couple of WASR's in the process. Yeah, they seemed "bullet proof", and yes, they performed with acceptable accuracy. I just couldn't get past how primitive they felt compared to ANYTHING I had fired before, not just my AR's. I know this comment will have some label me as an AR snob...that's fine. But its just my opinion. I'm not looking for a fight with the Kalashnikov fans here. The design itself is "as advertised". I'll have an AK someday, just not a WASR. __________________ "Life's tough. The WASR-10 is what it is. A good AK-47 at a great price point.
If you want a "Upscale" AK get a Arsenal. |
