That show is crap.
By the way what do you do with your foot if the door is a steel core reinforced security door? That's why you have the masterkey if you blow the lock off there's nothing to hold the door closed no matter how reinforced.

Not always practical to carry high explosives plus there may be hostages or non combatants behind the door that you just blew up. That doesn't look too good on the news.

As per our PMs I can only speak on my experiences. My experience in the mountains of Afghanistan was that there wasn't a door we couldn't kick down or open via Humvee or UpArmor.

We used Hooligan tools which could be strapped to a vehicle and C4 was always an option should the need present itself. I'd rather pack both of those items on a vehicle than carry a rail mounted shotgun at the end of my weapon and the extra ammo on my IBA. The extra weight on the muzzle end of a weapon makes it less maneuverable and the extra weight on ones IBA makes them less maneuverable as well as increase fatigue.

Like you said only speaking from experience my ops tended to be pretty short so extra weight on my LBE wasn't a big deal. And we were in neiborhoods so we had to be blisteringly fast. It was get out of truck go in clear get out gone we didn't but once have a chance to use a hooligan tool and it took a good minute to set up and get in. As a resultone guy (which rotated) had to carry in addition to his rifle an 870mcs with breaching rounds. You wanna talk about extra weight there ya are

We're all goin' to hell and I'm drivin' the bus.
