The 1866 "yellow boy" you speak of was in fact, a Winchester.

1866 was the year they changed from henry to winchester it is the still the same company and basically the same rifle except for the forearm and loading gate...but yes the term yellow boy did come into use in 1866 like you said
I was just calling it a henry as not to put out any confusion over the 1873 which most people think of when they think winchester but technically you are right

Winchester is in fact, the old New Haven Arms, so yours is a valid point...and a good observation.
So technically, you too are correct.

Sorry to keep this thread going off on a tangent, but are the current Henrys design the same as the 1866 other than the forearm and loading gate??
I'd like to buy a nostalgic repro lever gun that's as close to the original as possible, without spending 18k.

check out Uberti Arms. they make several different reproduction lever action rifles and also several SAA Colt style pistols. i have never owned one, but have looked and held them, and they are really well made firearms. their prices are reasonable too.

episode they worked on the sheriffs patrol boat they only outfitted it to shoot out the rear mainly. figured a boat possibly to pursue drug runners and such would want some fire power in the front not all in the back over all I think they F'd up
