Default Red dot for sks that will not brake the bank

Hi all fist post. Thanks for takeing the time to read it. I hope im posting this in the right place.

I have a yougo sks. It was one of my first rifles and its in good shape. Over the years I have put a different stock on it. I bi-pod and a 20 round mag. I have been a red dot fan for a long time. I put a BARSKA SKS scope mount on it. I BARSKA SKS Mount: Sports & Outdoors

I have read a lot about that type of mount having play it seems OK. If it dose not work out I will have the receiver drilled and taped for a better scope mount.

I would like a red dot that will not brake the bank. I think a cheep 30 wall-mart scope mount will not hold zero am I wrong?

Check out the Bushnell trophy red/green dot. I have one on my AR and would guess it would dial in just as well on an SKS, with a proper base.

The weak link in mounting optics on an SKS is the typical receiver cover mount used. Impossible to get it very solid. You might look at the scout mounts from
