Onto sanding out the hand guards, free float them the best I can...

Have you tried shooting it yet with good ammo?? Mine tears up brass pretty badly some times making it non reloadable.

No I haven't. Only run surplus, but keep in mind, this is just a fun project.
I know you said you reload your ammo, but can you recommend some good branded 7.62 x 54?

Try to find some surplus 7n1 rounds. Also Sellor& Bellott makes a fairly accurate 174 gr match load.

So, I bought a bipod. I had to drill into the handguard to mount the swivel, but she's got one now. Here she is, the bipod is freshly painted, excuse the tape.
