Default norinco sks

brother in laws, he dropped it while we were hunting the safety bar on the trigger assembly is being pushed down to far and the trigger is not releasing the hammer and it just moves back and does nothing. everything else is working fine but when the hammer did fall it falls so light it doesn't fire the round you can see where it hit but it just doesn't fire the cartridge. I've tried everything short of using a file.

Take it to a gunsmith. At least his work will be warranted, where you using the file could just make it worse.

i doubt it most sks are packed with cosmoline so tight when wrapped you could probably store them in water lol . and the trigger group is the last thing the average joe thinks of when cleaning .
