I converted a saiga this past summer went without flaw. I also installed the bullet guide very simple task. What i found most difficult is putting fire control group back together the first time now its cakewalk. Google saiga conversion lots of info out thier i purchased parts from carolina shooters supply sends you all 922r product

Honestly my issue is I don't have some of the tools meant to do this job and don't want to buy them since I don't even have a true work room yet.

Its ok. I just happened to find it at my LGS. Didn't even know what it was at first and probably overpaid for it honestly

So is it 4 or 6 parts I need to exchange? I know I can't have more than 10 foreign parts but there's disagreement as to whether or not there are 14 or 15 total parts

How do I know if I need a flat or rounded bullet guide?

You should need five on an AK variant with no muzzle device, 6 on one with.
The trigger group is 3, the magazine is 3 and the stock set is 3.

Most people do the trigger group and stock set in order to use imported mags.

Saiga's do not have a muzzle device, so it's 14 unless you add one.

I don't have imported mags except for the one that came with the gun. So the butt stock, pistol grip and forearm all add up to 3? And if I get a pistol grip I'll have to shift the FCG forward so I might as well get a new FCG which would make the total 6. Does the bullet guide count?

Any idea as to what my total cost might be with middle of the road parts? Not the most expensive but not the cheapest? By my guesstimation is should be around $250-$300 not counting the potential gunsmith fee if I get stuck or screw up.
