new saiga 5.45x39
So I've posted this in another forum but can't get answers. I bought a new saiga that came with a 10 rd mag. Later I bought two tapco 30 round mags. The round will feed and fire out of both the 10 and 30 rd mags but here's the problem. 1.) The 30 round mags don't seat as easily as the 10. They require a good slap on the bottom. This doesn't bug me but I figure I'll throw it out there. 2.) I like to have the option to eject a live round if I choose not to fire. With the saiga 10 rd, no problem. With the tapco 30 rd mags the round will eject but the soft nose tip has been deformed. Will those be a problem if I use fmjs? Will the fmjs jam the gun?

Does anybody have any answers?

Saigas need bullet guides installed to accept high cap mags
|
How do I do that?
|
You have to drill and tap the area in front of the chamber and screw the bullet guide in.
It sounds like a nightmare but I've seen it done many times, try youtube. |

I went to Surefire mags that are specifically made for the Saiga's and they fit perfect. Check here. You might have to call them. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/saiga-545x39-c-378.html?zenid=e5ab2f6678aacc7d42c541637b545274 |
Well supposedly my saiga is 922r compliant but I'm starting to doubt it

So is there a DIY way to install a bullet guide into the rifle?
|
|
So is it required to move the fire control group forward? Aren't there stock/pistol grip combos that I can just attach to the tang?
