Has anyone here had any experience with the Saiga 308? If so, how would you rate it?

I have played with them, but have not wrung one out yet. I will be buying one soon (next couple months), and will post a range report afterward.

I have one. 22" barrel. Love it. More accurate than I ever thought it would be. I'm leaving the stock and trigger group alone as it is very reliable and shoots better than I can. 3X9 scope. And hits clay targets at 300 yards all day. Expensive to feed but hey, a little overtime fixes that..Got mine for $359.00 4 years ago. Wish I bought 2 then..

I think the price I was quoted (about a year ago) for the 16" .308Win was right around what you paid.

1 year ago ? Dang, I'd jump on that if you can still get it for that. The cheapest I've seen them in these neck of the woods started at 600 bucks.. Personally, I like the longer barrel .308's for use starting at 200 yards. Anything closer than that is handled by the M4..

I have several M14's with 22" bbls so have the longer ranges covered. I'm going to get the 16" to strap on my ATV. I use a Socom for that now, but I think the Saiga is going to be perfect for that application.

My FFL sells me stuff at cost so the prices are always great.
