New to the ak world
 

I'm very new to the Ak world and decided to get an Ak over an Ar-15 but any way I need to talk specifics. I'm looking to invest around 500$ and was wondering what I could get OTHER than a saiga and WASR-10 but I'll settle for one if I have too. I need to know also which is more preferred the Ak-74 or the Ak-47 ? And what is the difference in recoil

I think you somehow were misinformed, mislead, or misunderstood what someone said about the Saiga. Saiga makes one of the better AKs on the market. You can purchase them starting at around $300 and going all the way to over $1k for a Rifle Dynamics reworked Saiga. There is a company out of LV named Arsenal that converts Saigas as well. The reason for the conversion is they are imported from Russia in a sporterized configuration. I believe they are still made in the Original Russian AK factory.

Read my post again. On two (2) different occasions I have stated that there are converted Saigas available in varying price points ranging from $499 to over $1k. That's already converted by professionals who do it for a living. They are already converted. If purchased you will receive a converted Saiga.

I know but I was just giving my experience with the saiga but I didn't know till you told me that they could be bought converted

And what brands make an Ak-74 because that I'd what I'm really interested in getting

They only come in 7.62x39 I was looking for a 74 in 5.45x39 and can't seem to find one I guess I'll have to to look a little harder

The folks at m&m who I belivleve are building the above mentioned rifle do the same thing in your desired chambering... it is simply much less common...
