My new Lancaster "Russian Red" AK-47

Just picked it up 2 days ago but I didnt have the chance to shoot it so some other time. I have shot AK's before though. This thing is beautiful. I love it.

But there is a story..
I went to my gun store's online store and saw the Century Arms WASR-10 and the price looked good and I knew I would have to refinish the wood, polish the charging handle (liked the look), and fix the trigger slap. So I looked all that up and figured out how to do it and decided I could and then I read how to install the Tapco G2 trigger and I decided that, that would be challenging. Really challenging. So that steered me away from it but not enough to think about the Lancaster. Later that day.. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the Lancaster and fell in love with that wood and the over all perfect look. More search and people love these and say the WASR < Lancaster.
So I finally went to the gun club with $500 in my hand still thinking of the Century since the Landaster was $900 (sorry i didn't mention earlier). I get in and tell the guy and he hands me one off the wall. Felt terrible, the wood was not sealed, lots of bumps and dents, the metal was terrible scratched and used. I saw that beautiful russian red wood and I had hold it.
Immediately I fell in love. Beautiful, brand new, great feel. Then it came to me that I wouldnt have to do any of the trigger work or worry about magazine wobble or anything. So I bought it. Worked out the financials after that.
Results..

Nice AK! If you are interested get you some surpluss metal AK 47 mags from Aimsurplus. They are 8.95 or 7.95 if you buy 10 or more. Have fun with. Those rifles ROCK!

Nice, I got one before the election for...

$610, plus $20 shipping from Atlantic Firearms. By Christmas they were $740, then $800 by the inauguration of the Great Usurper. Mine actually had a problem, which was easily remedied; the receiver cover didn't allow enough clearance for the spent casings to eject properly. I had an extra new Romanian cover that did the fix. Ultimately Lancaster sent me a new cover.
