so.. I've had my eye on a wasr Romanian mil surp AK-47. After tax I would pay around $650 is that a good price? is there anything i should look for that says its a bad rifle and should seek another AK? i looked it over and it seems fine but im used to ar's and eastern block weapons are so different to me i could easly miss somthing or get screwed into getting a garbage rifle. I just want to make an educated purchase and not waste my cash on a bad gun (not saying ak's are bad just this particular one.)

hey thank you for the link. the deal looks good and affordable. i just hit another snag.. i found out that ak's are illegal where i live. but i cant find anything recent that states a ban is still in effect. i live in cook county illinois. toss me a link if anyone finds something directly from the local gov. i can only find people stating partial lists of banned weapons.

You should check for a canted front sight. That is a common issue with wasr 10. Here in jax fl. they go for
$500-$550 in the LGS.
Some People Talk badly about them but, ive never seen another combat rifle for as little $$ that can come anyware to close to standing up to one.
All u gotta say is.....

1. RELIABILITY
2. Mag capacity options
3. accuracy at the realistic disatance you might use your rifle for home/self defense.
There just as customizable as an M4/AR or any rifle in the world. Sorry im just rambing now.
Anyway, I think the gun is worth that amount, if its the only one you can find.

its not the only one but your right.some have a canted sight and some have mag lip issues and others corrosion. the shop i go to is great but the way they treat ak's worries me. there are extremely good condition ak's there nut they were made in the us and go for around 800. as nice as they are ill pass on the price tag for now. there is only one good ak there and in my oppinion its a bute. but i may go some where else that had a better selection of ak's for me. and ones that are in better condition.
