Default muzzle brakes question

just got a new ak 7.62x39. want to add a muzzle brake. is the krinkov as good a brake as the ak74 style?
due to a bad shoulder need all the help I can get. the krink is kind of cool looking but.........

A recoil buffer might help out as well. Lots of sites carry them and they are a cheap upgrade around 15.00.

I can't speak to those types of breaks though, except to say that the more holes and/or slots there are will control the muzzle better. smaller holes or slots will be more effective than big ones (to a point) but also make it louder. hope that helped a bit.
