There is a factory version of the SKS that uses AK mags. They are somewhat rare and expensive. Almost the same cost as an AK. The only downside is they are a pinned barrel and stamped trigger group. All the Russian and Yugo SKS are threaded barrel and milled trigger group. The Chinese SKS are made both ways. They all shoot well but the threaded barrel and milled trigger group are better construction. IMHO.

Now-a-days, I would do a comparison, but to me $400 too much. And that is what GunBroker is charging for one, so watch it, that is probably a sucker bet.
When it gets above $300, start looking for a different gun. IMHO.

I bought an unfired Norinco with Threaded barrel, milled trigger group, oil can, cleaning rod / kit, sling and spike bayonet for $275---last year.
