Default Have all SKS imports stopped?

This subject came up on whichever gun website.
The poster claimed that Yugo imports were the most recent and have stopped. Whether there still exists a large unsold retail/wholesale surplus was not determined.

Does anybody know how to find the most accurate current info on this?

If SKS rifle prices steadily increase, is it because of this possiblity or concern that Congress will pass more ludicrous legislation? Three members of Congress have already created a bill to ban not just many semis but dozens of other hunting rifles.

There are several importers in ShotGun News that still run adds for SKS's. The biggest is J&G Sales. I would imagine the supply wold run dry at some point, since the SKS isn't manufactured anymore.

I've heard there are still a TON to sell, but it is a finite number, no matter how big. Eventually, more people will exist who want them than number of sks rifles available. At that point, they will start to really increase in price.

I don't think it's an "investment" piece, but that's what people said about garands thirty or fourty years ago when they were the "sks" of that era. I've heard old-timers talk about the surplus garands and 1911's and m1 carbines that could be found cheap in the 1960's and 1970's. Now look what they all sell for...

I can see an sks selling for $1,000 in twenty years, but not in five. The most important factor about an sks to me? As reliable as an AK, easy to load and shoot, and shoots a widely-available round. That's a good rifle to keep in stock.

Oh, I don't know. If that InfiTool Obama and the Uber Hater Biden get in office, you might be able to sell a "pre-ban" for a lot more than you would think.

It's not like it hasn't happened before.

six months prior to the '94 ban I could have bought an arsenal new SKS at any gun show for $79-99 with sling and oiler. I chose not to because they were cheap and poorly made compared to just about any other gun. I changed my mind in 2005 and bought a Yugo in new condition- I paid $200. Whatever you can afford now, buy it - it will only increase in value after November. That is unless they outright ban them and refuse to "grandfather" them in.
