alright you AK guys...you got me...
always been a fan of the AR and never been interested in the AK
but those darn pictures you guys been putting up have caught my attention and i've done some research

so i decided to end the endless battle between AR and AK by just getting both
does this seem like a pretty good deal?

I'm not familar with that specific weapon but I have a SAR-1 and love it, I think the Romanian triggers are the best stock triggers. Go for it, you might like it

That looks like a pretty good deal to me...though i am not really familiar with romanian aks. From what i heard they are suppose to be pretty good performers.
Can anyone shed some light on this specific model...experiences, etc....

Yeah!
Another happy customer.
I had the same problem when I started coming around these forums regularly. I had a Glock and was very happy with it, like all the other Glocks I'd owned before, but before long, after posting in these forums, I contracted H19N11 (.45 fever).
Before long I had a Colt Commander .45 stainless and then I put some of Sarge's grips on it.
How he's advertising in my magazine, Stalkingbear and several other members of the forum are writing for me and well, it's in my blood.
I love it. Good wholesome peer pressure at its finest.
That price on that AK is a great deal I do believe! Heck I didn't pay that for my Romanian and I was working in a gun shop when I BOUGHT IT!
So I'd say jump on that and ride.
Josh

Junho,
Yes, that is a good deal. Or, if you want something a little bit better, without too much more money, go with :
AIM Lancaster Arms NDS-2 "Rough Rider" 5.45x39 Rifle Lancaster Arms NDS-2 "Rough Rider" 5.45x39 Rifle
The only reason I said better, is that the WASR was mostly put together by Century Arms (sometimes questionable QA/QC), where as Lancaster normally puts out a pretty nice gun.

A buddy has one (same model, i bleve) and loves it. I've shot it and was happy with it. His trigger was factory-swapped for a tapco that feels fine. It is my understanding that these start life much as you receive them, other than the magazine well being machined to accept double-stack mags rather than single-stack. His likes the tapco magazines & some clear ones (nice). It hasn't jammed yet on the wolf ammo. The only problem he had was in ordering the wrong tapco collapsable buttstock (he thought the receiver was considered "milled", it isn't). The wood was kinda soft once it was seperated from the rifle.
IIRC, he paid about $525 at a gun show with a couple of mags & a sling.

I wasn't there at the time, but when he ordered the correct one (stamped receiver was the info, i bleve) he just bolted it on in a few minutes on from what he said. When he ordered the wrong kind (milled receiver was his mistake in info) I wish i had been there to laugh; he said he filed on that thing for an hour to make it fit. FWIW, as a non-midget the Tapco collapsible/extendable butt stock is MUCH more comfortable to me. He also got a "saw" pistol grip to replace the one that came on it & it is a bit more comfortable, IMO.
My advice, LOTS of plastic mags & LOTS of ammo; you will not want to stop to reload (handguard will get quite warm).
