Had a friend offer me a used Egyptian maadi for 625$ I know nothing about this rifle except it has wood furniture and apparently its a excellent rifle according to him....is it worth the money?

They are decent AKs made on actual AK47 equipment. They used to be the closest thing you could get to a real AKM. The only complaint I ever had was the paint finish that they used would flake over time.
MAADIs are what they used in the movie Red Dawn, just as a bit of trivia.
