just, just dont call it the enemies weapon, dear god im sick of that. I just hate the fact the market is so incredibly one sided with AR's. i read this earlier but i completely agree- go into a gun store, no matter what state it is, ask where the AK stuff is and youre ushered into a corner with a cardboard box bin, while the AR good ole boys get aisles upon aisles of just...sh*t to choose from. i myself just want to know who do i have to screw to find any mag other than a freaking tapco plastic hunk of crap in a store.

that and the range. an AK is accurate to 200-300 yds fellas, dont look at me like a retard if im sighting mine in or doing some target practice. Cant hear any of them talking crap anyway, 7.62 over speaks their mouths and dinky 5.56. sorry, i had to get one in.

$9.99 at Aimsurplus.

I like AKs and have had a few. I have found the AK to be more than most say but less than the AR when it comes to maneuverability, follow-up shots, and ammo selection. An ammo selection that can more than get the job done.

Both the AR/AK rifles are great tools.

As for the OP's saying ''guys from work'' calling the AK a poor mans AR...

Have your co-workers priced AK's lately?

The well made AK's will run you just as much if not more then a good/not top of the line AR-15.

Heck, even the AK parts kit cost almost as much as the AR's & it's a little more work to put one together-(pressing in barrel/setting headspace, drilling gas port, pinning sight post, ect) then if you bend your own flats

7 years ago a romanian G ak kit was $99 bucks with barrel installed- that was when it was a poor mans AR

If I'm not mistaken there are collector AKs well into the thousands and of course full autos over 10k.

I own a couple old norinco AK type rifles one is a MAK-90 fiberforce stock in 7.62x39 cal.no box. The other is a BWK-92 sporter in 5.56 cal. "very accurate'' w/box...i've been offered $900 for the MAK & $1500 for the BWK...both were bought new in the mid-90's, less then $500bucks invested& these are chinese made crap!!

either rifle or any other Tool/s will work for you,if you use them right

if you dont own either rifle,go out & buy one,try it,if they dont work for you...put in safe & 10 years later-pull out, resale,& be happier then playing the stock market

Oh I know u weren't saying there weren't,just saying that's the place I go to drool over high dollar ones. Now you know what a 2k dollar AK looks like, not impressed? Most aren't lol, even as a AK lover i can appreciate only some of the mods on them guns. Its almost like putting an Armani suite on a north Mississippi redneck
