[QUOTE=purehavoc;1329116]I have finally stepped in to the crude world of the AK as of yesterday and to be quite honest with you I think the design was far ahead of its time. Field stripping consists of about 20 seconds including removing the gas tube . No pins to lose as there are not any . IM a AR guy at heart but I really find the parts design really neat and very ,very simple . Heres some better pictures of the ol girl

I personally have this thing about the old rough looking AK's instead of the pretty boy ones.
Could be my background with them.

I'm going to leave her rude and crude thats the way she was made to be . The only thing I'm going to do is find a $6.00 used Romanian bakelite grip to get it back to original status .

My field stripping of an AKMS record was 8.5 sec.
Including: cleaning rod, gas tube, mag and other removeable parts.
I'm not sure now but it could be with bore check also.

And here are the newest pics of my AKMS:

The set is:
- 7.62 mm AKMSN with side rail mount
- KPO AK compensator
- kbs wz. 96 BERYL optic rail
- kbs wz. 96 BERYL foregrip with stippling with RIS rail added
- Vortex SPARC 1 x 22 red dot sight with doubler
- copy of Magpul AFG
- BHO safety lever
- left side charging handle
- rubber recoil pad on the buttstock

2600 PLN for carbine
900 PLN for optic
100 PLN for Beryl rail
250 PLN for gunsmith the Beryl rail mount
340 PLN for compensator
100 PLN for piston
20 PLN for extra grip
50 PLN for Beryl foregrip
50 PLN for copy of AFG
20 PLN for RIS rail
10 PLN for plastic mag
30 PLN for extra safety lever
30 PLN for rubber recoil pad

Which is: 4500 PLN (circa about ofcourse) which is about $1450 ($1 = 3,15 PLN).

It is very accurate and good for me in dynamic shooting.
Thanks to the compensator it is quite better to manipulate during fast shooting.

Not bad, I could see myself spending that kind of cash on a sweet gun like that.

Ditto. I like the left side charging handle and extension on the safety lever.

Thank you guys.
I'm thinking to make a DIY long foregrip from pipe (car exhaust pipe exactly).
I've got almost everything what I need except the time and place or just place right now.
