Almost complete!

Just need to fab and paint the butt plate, then I get to wring her out at the range.

I am just the opposite, my rifle requires a more traditional load because the pressure of the smokless would be too much. that is one reason I would love to have a 1989GBL or SBL so I can experiment a little with smokless powder I love the old cap and ball revolvers and the cap lock muzzleloaders.
I like any of the old black powder cartridges but that marlin is just plain and simple bad ass!

I guess I need to show a pic of my SKS so I wont look like I am jacking this thread

I need to pick up some 300 grain for jalvina and deer, and so I can get a little longer distance out of it.

I don't mess with blackpowder, never had an interest in it. I think if I was shooting trapdoor or a win 86 that needed lower pressures, blackpowder would have more appeal.

That is a old picture before i removed the bayonet lug and shortened the barrel from 20.5" to 17", It now has a Tapco Intrafuse stock in dark earth with a bottom rail still have to finish making the front sight A am also making a rear dust cover mounted sight.
I am going to buy several of the tapco mags and cut off the duckbills and install a mag adapter i made for it.
also doing the bolt mod so i can load mags with a closed bolt.

Have you looked at the peep sights from Tech Sights? I have them on my SKS and Marlin Model 60. The rear sight might work out for you; it attaches at the extreme rear of the dust cover.
