Bought this Saiga on Friday, shot it on Saturday and I'm loving it. It's not exactly a tack driver, but the accuracy is decent for what it is. The gun has some civilian features that I'm going to get rid of, like the civilian muzzle brake and the lack of a feed ramp. Already ordered an original and working DDR-style AK74 muzzle brake, just need to drill the holes bigger. Haven't decided yet if I'll get a smith do the feed ramp or if I'm going to try to fabricate it myself. I'm also going to change some of the furniture to make the gun more suitable for SRA (sort of a 3-gun competition for reservists).
Here she is:
With the original 10rnd mag and Hogue pistol grip
With a Sako 30rnd mag for mock-up, I'll need to file down the mag catch to make the mag fit properly
