Wood refinishing is certainly not my strong point but I have done a few rifle stocks. Here's a couple pics of the last one I did, this is a used Bulgarian set I got from Apex.

Thank you! Yours looks great. What finish process did you use?

I really have no idea what is going to be left of the parkerizing under the paint. I have a feeling it's not bad though because it really had not been fired much. (could be wrong though). I was just wondering if anyone had tried a specific brand for the chemical to try to remove the paint.

If all else fails I'll do what pslman was saying. I'll camo it myself. It's already green I could probably just take a black Sharpie marker and give it zebra stripes.
(just kidding).
Use the tape-off process to camo it. Get a roll of masking tape, your choice of colors for the camo, tape off where you dont want that color on the gun, and spray it down. Peel off masking tape, repeat the process with as many colors as you like. You can make it a digital squarish camo or you can make jagged edges with the tape to eleminate straight lines and make it blend in more with whatever you're camoing the gun for.

You'd be surprised how well it can actually look if you do it right and apply everything evenly. Even with rattle can stuff.

Thanks. It's a mix of shellac and dye.

Lots of elbow grease and two coats of Miwax red mahogany followed by three coats of early American.
