Default AK furniture recommendations

Dad has a Norinco MAK90. It has the wooden thumb hole stock and he really wants to get a new stock and furniture with a pistol grip if you can do that. I can change it out for him, but have no clue about what variations fit. Any recommendations? He likes wood, but I'm sure polymer wouldn't be a problem. He wants cheap

This place isn't cheap but it's very high quality, the parts are US made so they go towards your 922r compliance.

Chinese receivers are a bit thicker so the stock sets are proprietary.
If it's an angle cut which is likely one of these should work

If it happens to be straight cut these are for you

Thanks for the help. Maybe he needs to go polymer. Looking for that, except the cheapest solution. Its A Pretty Beat Up MAK90, So he's not real worried about it being of super high quality. Anything but the thumb hole stock

Mak90 stocks are pretty hard to come by, I'm not sure you can get polymer ones but I could be wrong.

Cheapest would be surplus wood, if hes got a straight cut receiver. But, thats points against 922R.
Several synthethic options are available, traditional style, extendable, dragunov. Mostly for straight cut tho.
Slant cut models have lots less options.

You could also mod the dumbhole stock if you want.

Asinine law that basically says if you have an imported 'non sporting' rifle or shotgun so many parts must be U.S. made. With a thumb hole stock and a 10 round mag a Mak90 is considered more or less a hunting rifle. Add a pistol grip or a higher capacity mag and it becomes evil

Here's some reading and a checklist for you.

http://www.gunwiki.net/Gunwiki/BuildAkVerifyCompliance

The easiest way to guarantee compliance is to swap out the furniture, trigger, hammer and disconnector to US made parts, then you can use imported mags.
