Looking to get an optic for my AK and willing to spend up to $200. I'm looking for more of a tactical optic, not necessarily a scope with high magnification, but something that I can use at the range, is accurate enough to shoot a fist sized grouping at 100 yards, but is quick and easy to zero in when pulling up to shoot.
I've found the following 3:
-http://www.katerno.com/detail/s/72614/p/730135/Bushnell-1-x-28-Black-Matte-Red-Dot-4-Dial-In-Red/Green-Reticles---730135
-http://www.mountsplus.com/miva/merchant.mvc?page=MSP/PROD/SPOT/SPO-MK3-NR6
Let me know what you think about these and if you have any other ideas.
Thanks |

Does your AK have a picatinny rail?
Does your AK have a side rail mount?
You are trying to do two diametrically opposed actions. A 100yd shot is a one-eyed shot and the inside-the-wire shooting is a two eyed, reflex type shot.
I found out how to do this but NOT at the same time.
For the 'reach out and touch someone' you will need a scope:
And for the zombie slayer:
Before I can suggest, I need more data!
They have yet to produce a bi-focal sighting device. (At least one we can afford!)
Oh, BTW, I got both of those ^ optics for far less than your 200$ budget! And NO they are NOT paint ball optics! __________________ .

I'm learning, or at least trying too lol. I have the side-mounted "weaver" rail I believe it's called. |

Yes pretty much just like it just looks a bit different, but same side mounted location. |

Thanks. I am just having a hard time figuring out which would be the best optic. I'm going to try out some of the one's my buddies have and see what I like the best.
BTW, what does it mean when one red dot optic has a 2.5 MOA and another has a 5 MOA rating but other than that they are the same? |

NC Star makes a 1.25-4x32mm illuminated mil-dot scope that mounts to a picatinny rail. The 1.25 power is ideal for close quarters and the 4 power is good for long ranges. It goes for $80-140 depending on which site you buy it from. I have one for my Saiga .223. |
