AK 30 Round Mag
I just bought a 30 mag for my ak. When I load it it sticks. Is there a way to break it in, or is it just messed up? Any help would be great.

What kind of sticking? When you load bullets in it? Sticky putting the mag in the gun? Sticky pulling the mag out?
|
sorry, sticky putting bullets in the mag

Is it milsurp? If so, you probably wanna take it apart, boil the pieces, rinse with hot water, scrub everything, and light coat of oil.

Are you sure it is correct? There are 7.62x39 and 5.45x39 mags. if you shoot 7.62x39 the mag will have a good curve to it. The 5.45 is curved, but not as much. If you remove the follower, it will be stamped. You can ID it from there. If the mag is bakalite, or polymer w/ a 10 or 21 in a circle, it is a Bulgarian AK74 mag.

Metal or Non Metal?

Another vote for cleaning.
I have at least a dozen Norinco (Chinese) magazines, the best of the best, IMHO, but they all had to be boiled out and cleaned to get the heavy packing grease (cosmoline?) out of them. :D:D |
