Default 1st timer

Got to fire an AK for the very first time yesterday....add AK to the growing list of 'needs'....this thing was smooth like butter.

Use the forward grip more like a hand stop and less like a beer can in addition to tucking your elbow in and you'll see a vast improvement in muzzle control and maneuverability.

Does your range only allow shooting while seated? Standing square to the target with your weight slightly forward will help keep the dot steady as well.

AKs are a blast to shoot. Everyone should have at least one in the safe.

AKs are fun to shoot, so don't get me wrong, but

have you tried an SKS yet? The machined receiver,

longer sight radius, and better balance make them

a little more accurate.

All things being the same, you may want to air out an SKS

before you invest your money. Of course, YMMV. I've got

both, and much prefer the SKS.
