I'd love one in 38 Super. I just really like the round.
Nice looking PT BTW

Box, almost 600 rounds never a problem really get the bang

Have a couple friends wiht them. They seem to be happy with them. One didn't like Gold Dot ammo, but seems to feed most anything else he has tried. The other one had a Slide/stop issue. (It extended a bit far into the gun and would get hit buy rounds in the mag and want to lock the slide. I fittted it for him, it's been trouble free ever since.)

The top one in the picture is my PT1911. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, lots of rounds from cheap round nose to higher end home defense with no worries. I have read hundreds of posts on multiple boards criticizing Taurus products, but I have been completely satisfied with mine. I presume that people have some basis for the negative comments, but my experience doesn't support any negative reviews. I ignore the, "It's unadulterated crap if it's not (fill in the blank with the author's favorite brand here)" type of comments. I think the majority of positive reviews come from owners and the negative tend to run in the "I heard from a friend of an in-law that knew for a fact...". You get the idea.

Spend what money you have wisely, take care of what you've got, and ignore the people that believe that we all should just wise up and be more like them.

The PT1911 was my second handgun & my first 1911 it was purchased in 2007 from a cop who had put 200 rounds through it. I can't speak on Taurus customer service because over the thousands of rounds & all the times I've carried w/ it the gun has never given failed me. Only had 2 jams w/ the gun once because the factory mag spring was twisted inside the mag so I only carry w/ Wilson combat mags. Second time I had failed to fully seat a mag yep rookie mistake in my rookie days (not like I'm a pro now anyway). This gun is my baby she was defiantly worth the money.

I owned the all steel version with the rail. The gun functioned great but the rail dimensions are different than pretty much all other manufactures so getting a good holster for it was next to impossible. I ended up trading it for a m&p 45c. I bought my dad the aluminum frame pt1911 with the walnut slabs for his birthday in 2011. He and I both love shooting the gun. one nice thing about the Taurus 1911's is that they aren't as ammo sensitive as some of the higher end 1911s. I have fed everything from ball to lead swc handloads through both guns without a hiccup. IMO Taurus makes a fantastic 1911 for the money. I have come to the conclusion that any Taurus that is a copy of another companies design is usually a solid gun. I know that their beretta 92 clones get great reviews and all of their wheel guns that I have owned are well made.

I bought one when they first came out. The only problem I have had is I put too much oil at one time and it caused the safety to work loose. Just reseat it with a small hammer. The gun otherwise has been awesome. Great trigger and accurate. No malfunctions with feeding any type of hollow point ammo, and I have fired some hot Buffalo Bore ammo with no issues. I have been very pleased with this gun and never plan on selling it.
