Default PT 111 Millenium G2 Mini review

This Taurus now has approx 800 rds through it (or maybe 1000 not sure)
This may be trivial by our standards but by the standards of the average handgun owner it's a lifetime of shooting and its been remarkably accurate pleasant shooting and reliable

Trigger pull is long but smooth.
Pistol features a loaded chamber indicator.

At first I felt this was a bit of a gimmick but now I really like that feature

The only fault I did find with the gun was that sometimes, maybe 1 out of 4 when you insert a mag on reload with open slide the pistol will not properly chamber a round and the slide will get stopped and you need to pull, rack, reinsert.

This issue can be entirely eliminated by holding the gun flat on its side instead of upright when reinserting the mag on a reload.
Weird.

I own 4 of these pistols and am uncertain if just one of them does that or if its 2. (one of the 4 is stored unfired and another 1 is cached fired/zeroed, in other words I maintain 2 "shooters")

Update:

Am now at 1500 rds w/o significant issues.
The issue with it sometimes not chambering a round with a new mag unless you hold it a bit off angle seems to have resolved itself and recently I been holding it upright.

This is not my only PT111 G2 and I am not sure if the others ever showed that quirk..And this is the one I decided to use as my trainer.

At this point the Ammo I shot thru it cost a lot more money than the actual firearm.

I can see why you have multiples of this gun. It is one of the best values on the market. I just picked another one up myself.

My Father In-Law just purchased his first handgun last weekend. He bought the same PT111 Gen2. He just got his conceal carry license about a month ago.

I like it alot. Although the barrel length is too short for myself, it is still a great feeling pistol. I love the feel of the grips, and the slide moves smoothly. He picked his up for $300 out the door.

Any downside to THIS Taurus?
A hunting buddy just bought one for about $150.00.
We're going small game hunting this weekend, and he got this. He just told me about it and I suggested that he load it with 147 Gr. FMJ for our protection out there, as that is what I carry for 'RURAL PROTECTION".
Any comments pro, and con appreciated, as I've invited him to look at this thread AND to join our community.

Good value for the money but like a lot of other poly guns the trigger sucks. I had a first gen PT-111 and the trigger was MUCH better than my current G2

Its an incredible value for the money especially how loaded with features it is out of the box (stippling, loaded chamber indicator on top, external safety) but its not perfect.

The trigger pull is a bit too long BUT its pretty smooth.

I still sometimes get a failure to chamber on loading a new magazine.
I shoot 2 Taurus regularly.. one does it 30% of the time unless I hold the gun sideways during reload...

A Smith M&P9C or a equivalent size Glock would not have this issue. BUT they also cost 2-3 times as much and even lack some of the PT111 G2s features that I like.

The Gun is not perfect but for the money I dont see anything its equal.

PS: Especially if your buddy can get it for 150 !, wow.. just the ammo for a full day of pistol training can cost as much
