Corporate America has NOTHING to do with our ammo shortages. It's the controlling nature of our NEW government!

Don't blame WalMart, don't blame fellow shooters that hoard ammo, and don't blame corporate America. It's the government that is legislating this whole mess.

If you don't see it by now, you must be a liberal . . . . and you'll never understand.

When our government orders over 2 billion rounds of non-military ammo, most people can see what's happening.

I can show you a dozen other pages that show the ammo they're buying. (It's public record.) How much more confirmation do you need?
I was not arguing. I got the link to work on an actual computer, vice phone. It is quite scary.

If what you say is true, why, in THE world would DHS need all of these calibers? LONG COLT! REALLY?

huh?

ease off the coffee bud.

My answer about 'corporate america following orders' was in regards to the CEO/Execs of DICK's being scared into submission by Federal scare tactics about selling firearms after the Newtown shooting. Nothing in the post about ammo, other then the long lines starting at 7:30am each delivery day.

You may continue having a heart attack now....

At the very least they are wasting HUGE amounts of money. DHS stated that the purchase was for training. Nobody trains with hollow points. LIke I said before, I am not convinced that the govt is responsible or even has a hand in the current ammo shortage but from personal experience, I don't trust my govt and if they have been buying ammo at these quantities for some time now then they need to answer for it.

What will it take for some people to understand the intentions of our government? One needs only to look at Obamacare to see how much they want us to be dependent on government. They also want us disarmed.

"The most effective way to find ourselves enslaved
will not be done openly. If weakened we will sink gradually.
I ask, who are the militia? They consist of the whole people,
.... except a few public officers."

- Thomas Jefferson

"You need only reflect that one of the best ways
to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days
is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding
fathers used in the great struggle for independence."

- Charles Austin Beard (1874-1948)

And why would they need 20,000 rounds of .22LR ? Training? C'mon....

I believe the ammo industry has been watching the petroleum industry and creating shortages. They know that everyone will blame Obama and when we finally get a supply of ammo we will be grateful for getting screwed for the past six months. Right now they firearms industry is recovering all the money they have paid politicians in the last cycle of elections. Kind of like a tiny refinery in Kansas causing a gas shortage all across the US. Right now gas should be under $3 a gallon but because a refinery in Kansas has to be repaired the entire system is strained so gas is $3.50. There are probably containers of ammo sitting in a well secured lot somewhere while distributors are racking up record profits for half the work.
One refinery in Kansas can't cause a nationwide jump like that. What can cause it is US EPA tightening the screws on the oil industry by reinterpreting laws. It's easier for Obama to hurt big business by directing his minions to reinterpret laws than it is for him to get laws passed. So that's what he does.

Government always buys ammo. But they don't always buy such huge amounts of ammo that is not normal military issue. Supply to points of sale is down substantially because (a) ammo manufacturers can make more reliable profit selling to the guys who print the money, and (here comes the conspiracy notion) (b) US government can apply pressure on the manufacturers to meet their orders first. Take a look through Obama's recent round of executive orders. He has ordered that this will be the case whether it's legal, ethical, moral, right, wrong or indifferent.

Am I just being paranoid? Remember, even paranoids have enemies. Mine is our present government.
