Default Israeli MK3 Police Trade-in on the way.

I got an email this morning from AIM Surplus this morning and made an impluse purchase.

http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=2611&name=FN+MK+3+Hi+Power+9m m+SHOOTER+GRADE+Pistol

Been wanting a Hi Power for my collection for a while and I absolutely love guns that have worked for a living rather than safe queens.

So how did I do?
Is this SA only or DA/SA??
Anyone have one???

Aim has always exceeded my expectations so hopefully you will be more than pleased with yours. Let us know of course we like gun porn and range reports.

I too succumbed to the impulse to buy one of these "shooters".

The Hi Power is a single action pistol with excellent pointability, affectionately called The King of The Nines.

"I'm with you fellers". Bought a surplus Israeli FN HP35 about 6 months ago for a range shooter. It's also well used but still is a sweet shooter. Although it was a design collaboration and John Moses Browning didn't live to see it finished, it was his last handgun design - as much of an icon to the rest of the world as his 1911 is to us Americans. No 9mm collection is complete without one. And I like the "retired" service firearms, too. They wear their service scars well.

I think you did very well, the Mark III has better sights and feed ramp than older Hi Powers so it should be a good shooter. The price is good and it's worth the extra $10 to get the best of five inspected.

I got an imported surplus Mark III a few months back that's been a great shooter. Here's a link to the thread so you can see pictures of what you can expect from one of these surplus guns.

While at it, check out the new Galil. It "may" be the AK I've been waiting for, all these years. http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/01/23/iwi-to-resurrect-galil-rifle-in-us-market/
