MP5 w./ halo sight, glock 17 with 30 round mags, 1917 trench knife (brass knuckles with a 7.5" double bit blade). Only have to carry a lot of 9mm ammo.

The only problem with the .22 is that when there are zombies, there are also bad people who will take advantage of the situation. Something between 9mm and .223 is a good compromise of being able to carry a decent amount of ammo for the hordes, but still having enough firepower to effectively defend yourself against the pirates.

So yeah, a 10/22 isn't terrible, though I'd prefer maybe a 9mm carbine (compact, relatively quiet, shares ammo, etc) or a .223 AR as a general-purpose gun.

The .40 is for those people. :P

I feel the max effective range of a .22 falls around 100 yards so that scope might still work. That target I posted was 50 ft on iron sights. I now have a 4x32 on it to start.

I'm surprised no one has said a bow or cross bow and I'm hoping to get a second Ar-15 that's not a 22 lol in like 5.56 or .223

I love my bow (notice avatar?) but if I have to pick, it's staying home.

Nobody mentioned the 12 ga?
Really?

A hoard of 25 to 50 Zs has you backed into a bad situation. I think an AR-15 (or similar) and a 12 Gage would get me out of that. Also a 1911 on the side and 1 extra bullet in my shirt pocket (for reasons we all know but don't want to talk about)

BTW, i think that shooting Zs further than 100 yards is impractical. Head shots are hard to get and the report will only alert the others of your location.
