BCM has allot of Uppers in stock and I just got a Complete Lower from them a few weeks ago. Maybe try that route instead of ordering a complete rifle?

I recieved their "in-stock" parts in less than 1 week from my order date and the lower in just under two weeks.

I voted for the Colt, if I had the coin it's what I would buy. I am not a fan of bullpups, I just can't get on board with them. I know their purpose and I know they are very effective. All that being said, it looks like I will end up with the S&W MP soon as my first AR. Price is an issue for me right now and I can't seem to find anyone saying anything bad about them.

A Colt Lightweight or someone's good lightweight AR (upper) with a short (telescoping) stock. 20 round mags.

Get thge Colt. It's top of the line, and because of the Colt name, it holds it's resale value better if you ever need to sell or trade it.

BTW, 5.7 is not too expensive to shoot. $23-$24 per box of 50. Most centerfire rifle ammo is $10 or more per box of 20.

Good point...the problem, for me, is I went to all 3 wal-marts in my town, Dicks Sporting Goods, True Value, and Rural King, and NONE of them carry the 5.7

I know I can get it online...but even then, im finding a lot of people are sold out of it...very hard to come by ...

According to FN, the 5.7 production has been off line for a few months, for producing other calibers. However they have retooled that production line, and they say it will be available in quantity later this month.

(Hope so. I'm down to 1500 rounds.)

BTW, this is normal manufacturing procedure for all ammo makers.

Well, my wife made her purchase today. She didn't agree with us on the Colt

But I still like her decision. Smith & Wesson M&P15

Got $200.00 off, plus 500 rounds of Remington .223 ammo at $0.30 a round...was a hell of a good deal!!!

Pictures to come as soon as the stupid Illinois 24 hour waiting period expires

That's a nice looking rifle, I am anxious to hear how it does at the range. I am thinking a M&P15 will be my first AR.
