The power of a rifle is derived from the cartridge, not the rifle itself. While the .50 BMG is a very powerful round at over 14,000ft lbs of energy, the Soviet 14.5×114mm cartridge has upwards of 33,000 ft lbs of energy, thus making it a much more powerful round, neither cartridge is actually meant to be anti-personnel and was designed for armor and equipment.

the bullet doesnt tell how powerful it is all the time. it is just like a shotgun is more powerful than a 22 no matter what kind of bullet is in the shotgun!!!!

That's because they are different cartridges... A .22 is a rimfire rifle cartridge, the shotgun fires shotgun shells.
All a firearm does is ignite the primer and guide the round. The projectile does the damage, not the gun...

The one on the left is a .410, the right is a 12 gauge. There is a major difference in size.

Much more powerful, shotgun shells just like all ammo come in different loadings, so one 12 gauge shell may be more powerful than another 12 gauge shell. But yes, a 12 gauge is much more powerful than a .410.
