Sorry to harp on this, but I practice gun safety religiously and teach my children as well. When shooters get sloppy, people get hurt. Please learn from this event.
Have already stated the likes myself. Ive hunted for many years, archery only, so firearms are new to me, but the concept of safety is not at all. Trust me. Already enrolled in class anyway.

I mean, in all honesty, the safety course doesnt teach one the difference between different shell sizes or designs. Its more of an in general thing, but it doesnt hurt to have a refresher, even for someone experienced that has been on a hiatus. It does help to remind one of the importance of assurances and safety, which is necessary, and where this kind of event couldve been avoided.

I made almost same mistake with my 270 weatherby mag. Someone put an 3006 bullet in with my 270 weatherby mag bullets. I was shooting at a running deer, and when I was reloading tried puuting the 06 bullet in am didn't cycle in thank god, so I look at the bullet saw it was an 06 so I chucked it didn't want to keep it cuz of doing it that mistake again.
