That is a nice gun. I have a M70 post '64 w/ a push feed bolt in .243 and it is one of my most accurate rifles, consistantly shooting sub MOA groups w/ my handloads. In fact, there is not a bullet weight it does not like.

It is a push feed. I too have had a couple of them and both shot very well. They did reintroduce the control feed for a time in the 90's and I had several of them also. Mine were LH M70's, I wish I had kept them! Hindsight is 20-20!!!

its a push feed. not a really a model 70 its their version of the remington 700. they shoulda called it a model 700. it woulda been more honest.

the real model 70 has a long extractor claw which is missing on yours.

that doesnt make it bad just means its not really a model 70

Ya this one wants to be accurate but I can't get it sighted in. it's shooting to the right so I move the scope to the right and it shoot more to right lol. I guess I forgot how to sight in a rifle.

The new model 70 classic isn't the pre64 but IMHO it's the best current production bolt action rifle made (excluding some of the really high end European rifles that are borderline on custom), and will probably be my next bolt action.... If I don't stumble on a good deal for a pre64 first!!!!

there4 are good reasons why the Model 70 has always been known as "The Rifleman's Rifle."

You have a great gun no matter what year it was made. Hang on to it. My Dad had one and past it down to my brother. Its his favorite and its accurate. Just got to spend some time behind it and you'll get it sighted in.

Lol you must be a bow hunter, if it shoots to the right, move the scope to the left.
