Winchester 70 vs Browning a bolt

I haven't shot either but I have handled them both and I am stuck between which one to buy. I haven't heard much about the 70 so that's basically what I'm asking for is the ups and downs of one or both of these guns

They both are great rifles i have a win pre 64 model 70 and a Browning but its a bar I'm going to pick up a A bolt later but to be truthful I would take a Browning over the new model 70 any day cuz the new ones don't come close the old ones:( in my opinion anyways

I RUN LIKE A CHEVY AND IM BUILT FORD TOUGH ;)

I have one of each the a bolt is in 270 and the win is in 30-06 I hunt with the 30-06 the action is much smother on it. It's hard to say what one is better I just hunt with the win bc it's synthetic so it's lighter and it's 30-06 so more knock down power.

Model 70 the riflemans rifle, that should sum it up for ya

I lean toward the model 70, but in truth there's very little difference in quality, accuracy, etc.

i used to have an a-bolt in .270, but sold it and got the x-bolt instead...i have a model 70 in .300 but the a-bolt was a better fit for me, and i was more comfortable shooting it bc of the aesthetics. I loved the a-bolt.

If i were you id take the browning for a better fit, accuracy and just general aesthetics. but either the model 70 or a-bolt...both are great choices.

The new Model 70's are supposed to be even better that the pre 64's. I would go for the A-bolt over the Model 70 if the Model 70 was made after 1964 or before the new run of rifles produced in S.C. was introduced. But look at one od the upper end Savages, best rifles on the market in my opinion.
