Default winchester 70 stocks

Just wondering, can a winchester 70 in 7mm rem mag have a stock for a 70 in .270 win. put on it? I know that 7mm mag is long action, but is .270?

270 is a short action round so no. the cuts are very different.

Actually, the .270 is a long action as it is based off a necked down 30-06. As for the winchester stock fitting, I assume it would, but I don't know for sure.

They would both be long action, what matters more is if the actions are the same design. Since the M70 has been around so long, there have been a few variations in the length of even the standard long action....need to know if they're both pre-64, post 64 pushfeed or later classic style......
