Winchester 100

I have a winchester model 100 in 308 cal. and i need some help. The trigger when pulled won't release the hammer. I have removed the complete trigger assembly to check for broken parts but have not taken the assembly or anything else apart. When I pull back on the lever or lock on the back side of the hammer just slightly and then pull the trigger the hammer will release. The rifle has had the firing pin replaced and nothing else. can anyone help. Thank you in advance for your time and knowledge.

Welcome to FTF. Have you pulled the trigger guard assembly out of the gun? Is the magazine in then gun when this happens? Safety off?

Hello, i have had the trigger guard out and i have replaced the trigger assembly. when i removed the trigger assembly and pulled the trigger it would'nt release the hammer and the safty would'nt move to safe. when i push down on the trigger lock lever the trigger works and the safty works. thank you again, griz.

Sounds like a safety issue. If you could pull the assembly out and take some good (detailed) pics I might be able to see the issue. If you want I can post a pic of an exploded view of the assembly.

Don't see anything that immediately jumps out as an issue. I'd say rip it apart if you're comfortable doing so. Here's an exploded view.
