ive got a 260 Remington (.308 necked down to 6.5mm) with a brake it kicks like a heavy barreled .223 and its used by many to take elk. Its accuracy is excellent although my rifle is much too heavy to hunt in the mountains with. 6.5x55 is also another outstanding round, its killed everything in Europe for quite a long time.
